Frequently Asked Questions

These are some of our most frequently asked questions. If your question isn’t answered here, feel free to send us a message and we’d be happy to answer any additional questions you may have.

  • Once we’ve given you our estimate and you’re ready to move forward, we require 10% of the estimated cost of the job to be paid in order to book us.  On the first day of the job, 50% of the remaining amount is due, and then the 50% that is left is to be paid upon completion of the job.

For example, if your job cost $2000, you would have to pay $200 to book us (10%), then $900 on the first day we start working and the remaining $900 upon completion of the job.

  • We like to use Benjamin Moore paint, as we find theirs to be the best quality, however on occasion we might have to use a different brand due to supply constraints.

We know that keeping costs down is important, but we also want to leave you with quality work, so we will always seek to find the best quality of paint at the best price.

If you have a different brand of paint you would prefer, we can discuss it.

  • Every person is different, so you will have to gauge your own sensitivity to the paint smells, but it is fairly safe to be around. In the event that we are using a product that has a strong smell, we always do our best to open windows or do what we can to increase ventilation.

  • This is completely dependent on what it is we are doing for you.  Some jobs can be done in 1-2 days, others can take weeks.  When we come to give you an estimate, we will let you know how long we expect it to take.

  • If the surface has been painted before, then we most likely won’t need to prime.  If the surface is brand new and never been painted (i.e. new drywall), then we will need to prime, or if there are pen marks, water marks, oily spots, etc. then we will also need to prime because they can bleed through paint.

  • With the paint that we use, interior and exterior paint jobs will last around 15-20 years.
